Salisbury Sling Library 6th Birthday Fundraising
February 14 2020 saw Salisbury Sling Library turn 6 years old! It is the anniversary of the first, official library meet and to celebrate, we have had 2 weeks of fundraising to raise much needed funds to pay for our volunteers’ Peer Support training, so they can give help and support at our drop-in sessions.
Thursday February 20, we held a birthday party alongside our usual drop-in session. We were kindly joined by Katy of Sing and Sign baby classes, Hannah Keech of HK Fitness, who has recently qualified in pre- and post-natal fitness and Gemma of Relax My Baby massage and yoga classes, all of whom entertained us with their join-in demo sessions. We also had Natasha Weeks freelance hairdresser offering cuts and dos for the adults and kids!

We were lucky enough to have so many amazing prizes donated to us by local businesses, that we were able to organise a tombola and a raffle for the birthday party, as well as an online auction!
HUGE thank you to our business doners: Neal’s Yard, Bird & Carter, Dark Revolution, FireSpiral, Cook, Frugi, Army Flying Museum, Rachel Burnside photography, Helix Baby, Finkley Down Farm, Farmer Palmer’s, HDavison photography, BirthGently, Kimbo Bakes as well as all our other doners!

The party raised an amazing £250 from the tombola, raffle and the sale of delicious donated cakes from our volunteers – Thank you!
We were also lucky enough to be visited by and featured on That’s TV Wessex!
Our online, fundraising auction also went fantastically well! Raising a HUGE £495!
Thank you so much to all those who so generously donated and those who took part and helped raise the cash!
We will soon be training up 4 volunteers to become Peer Supporters and refreshing 6 of our current Peer Supporters/Consultants with continued training.
Thanks everyone for your support of the Salisbury Sling Library – without your donations, we could train up our volunteers to help you and the local community, without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to run the library!
Please come along to a drop-in for a coffee soon! And HAPPY BABYWEARING!
